‘WAKE UP’ Solo exhibition
WAKE UP was my first big solo exhibition

The artworks exhibited in Wake Up are the result of the personal emotional and artistic journey which took over me in the past year.
The heart of the exhibition is 20 multi-technique paintings, done over the covers of vinyl records. Each work is focusing mainly on the inner part of the cover, in representation of the constant search for meaning and content.
Each of these 20 works is based on a song – 20 songs transformed into 20 complex visual creations, each represents a specific moment or experience, and talking about private and public sadness and anger, personal and global protests and dissidences, love, breakups, politics, society, religion, identity, and the pursue for success, happiness, and self-fulfillment.
The soundtrack which inspired the show is compiled mainly by the Grunge scene of the late 1980’s and the early 1990’s. This is the soundtrack of the X generation, now in their late 20’s and early 30’s, that find themselves in personal and social crossroads, in an era in which the traditional social values and norms are being challenged.
The vinyl records that used as the main surface for the show were collected mostly from the streets, thanks to the help of many of the Tel-Aviv street-art scene – artists, photographers, and documenters, all of which are usually the first to discover all the forgotten treasures that the city has to offer.
In order to emphasize the musical influence on the creative process and in order to offer broader experience and deeper observation, a QR scanning code was placed next to each work. Scanning the code using a Smartphone lead the viewer to a special website, in which he or she could listen to the song that was the inspiration to the work.
